Zia Bolo Vase

Zia is solar symbol of the people of New Mexico , a red circle with groups of rays pointing in four directions.
It is painted on ceremonial vessels, drawn on the ground around campfires and used to present newborns to the Sun.
4 is the sacred number of Zia and we find it repeated in the four radiating points of the circle:

- The four cardinal points (north - south - east - west)
- The four seasons of the year (spring - summer - fall - winter)
- The four perides of the day (morning - noon - evening - night)
- The four seasons of life (childhood - youth - middle age - old age)
